Mini Spring Shopping Spree

You know how people say don’t go shopping when you’re hungry? Or when you’re sad? Or are supposed to be saving every dime for plane tickets? Well, last week I broke the rules.

But…

In my defense, we’ve been having record rainfall in Oregon this year. And I mean RECORD BREAKING RAINFALL.  (I know, I know. Everyone thinks Oregon rains all the time as it is. And it does. But this is even worse!)  So, cheering myself up with shopping really was inevitable.

Want to see what I got??

Nars Bronzing Powder | $40

The first item I picked up was a NARS bronzing powder. In the shade Laguna. Everyone has been raving about this, I absolutely love NARS lip glosses, and my other bronzer broke (it was the bathroom tile’s fault, not mine), so this seemed like the perfect choice.

I have only used this a couple times, but so far I am loving it. It is a pretty, warm shade and has a subtle gold shimmer that looks nice against my skin. And I think this bronzer would work well for pretty much any skin tone. I wear it lightly, but you could definitely get a darker contour with it if you wanted.

Tarteist PRO Glow Palette | $45

This next palette was something I actually bought to use mainly as an eyeshadow palette, as apposed to the highlight/contour it is sold for.

Why?

First. I’m not that great at contouring (but I’m going to practice more for dinner parties!).

Second. The strobe shade looks just like Urban Decay’s ‘booty call‘ eyeshadow from the Naked2 Palette.

This might not seem like a big deal if you’ve never tried that shade. But if you fell in love with it like I did and couldn’t find a compatible shade once you used it up, it is. (Who wants to keep spending $54 bucks just to keep using that one little shade? Not me.) So, yeah. I was ecstatic when I found the strobe highlighter. This color matches my skin so well, has a nice shimmer (but no big glitter flakes), and really helps make my Native American eyes look bigger.

But don’t worry, I’ll definitely be practicing with the other shadows as well. Some day I WILL master contouring. ?

Old Navy Stiletto Sandals | $25

The third purchase I made was this pair of white Stiletto Sandals from Old Navy. I’ve been needing a pair of white shoes for a while and thought the front strap was adorable, so they had to go in my cart as well. Cannot wait to wear these with black jeans and a white blouse!

The only thing I was worried about when buying these was the heel height. I typically go for just 2 inch heels and these are three; but, they are actually surprisingly comfortable. And the back strap around my ankle doesn’t hurt at all. So if you are looking for a nice pair of white heels, definitely check Old Navy! I couldn’t find any white ones online to link for you (just the tan version), but there are tons in the stores.

Well, that’s all for my little shopping spree. Have you been shopping lately? What did you get? Let me know in the comments!

P.S.

The makeup colors in these photos are a little brighter than they really are, and the colors displayed on the Ulta website are a slightly darker. So imagine shades a little in-between haha.

Sometimes all you need is some retail therapy to take care of those gloomy days! I wish I knew how to contour too haha! But I see you got something from NARS and you can’t go wrong with them. Those sandals from Old Navy are so cute and such a steal!

Ok first – LOVING the new site sweet girl 🙂 Like it’s absolutely perfect for you and your photography. It makes me so excited for you!

And two – we are basically twins because I just purchased the Tarte contour palette myself too! I had an older version of theirs and I really loved it. (I feel like Tarte contour palettes are more for the everyday girl that just wants just a touch of the Kardashian contouring. lol) But in the old version their highlighters are crap so I was excited to update a version so I can travel with even less 🙂

We are always twins haha. xo

Girl that’s a tame shopping spree. I’m dangerous when it comes to online shopping. I need a warning siren on my laptop or something. Nars bronzer is the gold standard so I’m confident you’ll love it. And I’m still trying to figure out highlight/contour makeup. So if you figure it out, let me know haha. And those shoes are too cute for only $28. I’m a 2in heeler myself, but if it’s comfy then why not go 3in?

I think I am just about the only woman in the world that hates buying shoes o.o I mean, I do LOVE owning lots of shoes, but the buying process is by far the most exhausting thing I ever go through.

Shoe shopping can definitely be exhausting, especially if you really need to find a pair and can’t. These I just happened upon. So easy haha 🙂
