Johansen Totes’ Gorgeous Siena Bag

As I am now a photographer and blogger, I have come to need a bag that can work as both a handbag and a camera bag. Hence, I spent a great deal of time scrolling Pinterest this past Autumn and Winter in search of “the perfect bag” – which ended up taking longer than I thought it would. Anytime I found something I liked, it was either in the 1,000 dollar range, sold out, or discontinued. This began to be extremely discouraging, and I figured I would just have to settle for a bag I liked well enough but still not what I was looking for.  Needless to say, when I saw this bag modeled on Rach’s blog RD’s Obsessions, I was thrilled.

IMG_0164-for-the-webThe Siena Camera bag is everything I had been searching for.  It meets all of my needs and looks lovely at the same time. Though it may look small, it can actually hold a DSLR camera and lens. Handcrafted with top quality Italian leather and a unique turncock closure, this sleek bag, as described on the shop website, is “sophisticated and timeless.”

IMG_0223-for-the-webIMG_0227-for-the-webIMG_0253-cropped-for-the-webIMG_0277-for-the-webIMG_0076-for-the-webIMG_0301-for-the-web2Some other details that I like about the Siena bag are:

  1. It has an adjustable and removable strap. This strap has six holes for adjusting the length and two bands at the end. I really appreciate that the bag has two bands instead of just one, because the extra band keeps the end of your strap from sticking out if you adjust it to the sixth hole. Some of my other bags have lacked this, and I found it to be very annoying, so this is definitely a plus for me.
  2. The strap has a removable shoulder pad.  Lugging a heavy camera around can be quite straining on my shoulder and back, so this thick shoulder pad is a wonderful addition to the Siena bag as it makes carrying a heavy bag much easier.
  3. Three sturdy interior pads.  Two of the pads are for a camera/lens and one of the pads if for an iPad or tablet. All of these are made out of brushed nylon and have velcro ends, enabling them to be removed or rearranged in the bag.

IMG_0044-copy-for-webJohansen Tote’s Siena Camera Bag is a fabulous purse that I absolutely love. I cannot sing its praises enough and honestly cannot find any fault with it, so, if you are looking for a statement bag but do not want to spend a pretty penny, definitely treat yourself to the Siena.

IMG_0057-copy-for-webWhat is your favorite kind of purse? Do you prefer having a versatile bag like the Siena, or do you like keeping your handbag items and camera separate? Let me know!

  8. Love love love this bag! I am currently using just a regular tote as my daily camera bag, but I kinda know that I’m eventually going to have get a dedicated camera bag… yet I was the same as you! I want something visually appealing, yet don’t want to have to take out a small loan. 🙂 I’m totally bookmarking this option!

    xo Kelsey | http://www.abalancingpeach.com

    • Davelyn says:

That’s what I was using as well, but having dividers that keep my camera from falling on top of breakable things in my purse is really nice! So definitely check out the Johansen Totes website when you decided to purchase a new bag! There are so many different styles and color options to choose from (some of which are even cheaper than this one). xo

  9. Travel Alphas says:

It’s BEAUTIFUL! And so are you 🙂 $179, that’s not bad at all considering how cute and functional it is.

Love it! I have always wanted a pretty camera bag but at the same time I’m torn…I’m always afraid I’ll regret not taking more lenses in a bigger bag or that they are not protective enough. I need to look into thins, thanks for the review~

    • Davelyn says:

I know what you mean. It is so hard to leave lenses behind! Sometimes I don’t feel like carrying them all around, though, so this comes in handy on those days for sure! And I would definitely say that Johansen Tote’s bags are protective enough! This bag is very sturdy and so are the padded dividers 🙂

  31. This is such an awesome find! I carry my camera in a god awful tote bag that is not right for protecting it. I cannot for the life of me purchase one of the black camera bags they sell at camera stores. So ugly. I want to get a new camera bag, but it is never on the top of my shopping list. Shoes seem to get in the way haha.
