AUSTRIA – 20 Photos To Inspire You To Visit

Österreich. Wenn ich an ‘hohe Klasse’ denke, denke ich an Wien und Salzburg.

Austria. When I think of ‘high class,’ I think of Vienna and Salzburg.

Gorgeous architecture is known to all of Europe. And for this, I fall in love with every country I visit. Austria impresses me in an uncommon way, though, in how well they have preserved their Baroque style. Not only do they upkeep their buildings well – from the palace down to the tiniest cafés, the walls are kept so clean and the paint fresh – but, they also have not allowed really any modern buildings to be created within the heart of Vienna or Salzburg.

I am often sad to see a modern styled building taking away from the character of something carefully crafted hundreds of years ago, as happens often in other cities. Of course, like everywhere else, Vienna and Salzburg have had to expand as well. But Austria has kept these new developments on the outskirts of the cities. And so, if it were not for cars, in many respects Austria feels untouched.

Beautiful architecture certainly isn’t all Austria has to offer, though. They have some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever explored. Just look at this cave entrance!

I hope these photos inspire you to visit – or re-visit! If you have any questions about the locations of these photos or need travel recommendations, let me know in the comments below!
