This past weekend I took a day trip to Seattle to see my favorite parts of the city again. So if you’re planning a trip to the city and want to know what you should do in just 24 hours, here’s what we did and would recommend:
Underneath the Freemont Bridge on Troll Ave North, sits a 13,000 lb troll sculpture. Built in 1990 for an art competition to help rehabilitate the run-down neighborhood (which it won), it is now an iconic landmark of Seattle. I would definitely recommend taking a quick stop here to get some fun photos.
Next, I’d go to the Space Needle. But not just the space needle! Make sure you see the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum as well. They are right beside each other and the museum is beyond amazing. Plus, the outdoor part of the museum gives you a beautiful look at art with the Space Needle showing up above, through the glass.
If you have time and the extra funds, I would also highly recommend having a meal at the space needle. Not only do you get a gorgeous view from 500 feet, but the restaurant also has a slow revolving floor. Which means you get a 360° view during your meal at this luxurious restaurant.
Pro Tip: If you are not going to eat at the space needle, buy a pass to both the museum and space needle together. They charge $3o a person to go to the top of the space needle, so you’ll save quite a bit of money if you get a pass to both.
The next thing I would do is go to Pikes Place Farmers market. This place is filled with flowers, pastries, and artwork and reminds me a great deal of Europe. I always enjoy a stop here when I visit the city.
Down some stairs, to the left of the Public Market Center sign (shown above), is Seattle’s famous Gum Wall. You couldn’t pay me to touch this piece of artwork with my bare hands, but I definitely think it is a lot of fun to look at. So buy some gum and leave your mark here!
And if you like Starbucks, then you’ll want to walk to the right of the Market as well. Because down the street is where Starbucks began – the original coffee-house that was opened in 1971.
There are a lot of fun shops to explore in Seattle, especially near the Market on 1st and Pine streets. One of my favorites of which is Earthbound Trading Company. So if you like unique jewelry that’s sort of like Urban Outfitters, take a stop there!
I’d also recommend walking around the Marina. Its so beautiful looking at the boats in the evening and if its a clear day, you can see the mountain in the background. You might even pay $13 for a Ferris Wheel ticket to see everything from up high while you’re at it!
And last, but certainly not least, I would enjoy some pizza at Von’s 1,000 Spirits. Which is right down the street from Pike Place Market.
I went here for the first time this weekend and was blown away by how good their Nonna Maria pizza was. It was – hands down – the best pizza crust I have ever had. Seriously. I am not the kind of person to pick favorites or throw around the sentence “that was the best ___ ever,” so I am not exaggerating one bit. This truly was the best pizza dough I have ever eaten.
Why was this pizza so good? Well, the waiter told me that this bistro is a 100% Sourdough scratch kitchen that sources a lot of its produce from Pike Place Market. Plus, the pizza dough is left to ferment for 48 hours. So its chewy, but solid, just like a New York bagel.
Can you tell I’m excited to go back here?
Anyways, I hope this was helpful! Let me know if you’ve been to Seattle before or if you plan on going 🙂
P.S.

As you know, I love Seattle, and now I am looking forward to eating some of the pizza you mentioned. Sounds delicious.
I don’t know how you’ll feel about me saying this, but Washington and Oregon are the only US spots that have ever really interested me, so I’m glad to see some Seattle recommendations! It looks like a beautiful spot, with lots of things to see and do. And I love your photos in this post – so pretty 🙂

A troll sculpture? I love seeing kitschy things like that. My friend recently went so I’m going to ask her if she saw it. How fun!

What an incredible post, babe!!! I have heard SO MUCH about Seattle and have seen so many beautiful pics from there on Instagram and other socials but I am yet to visit it. This post is full of super helpful tips which I’m definitely going to take on board once I know Seattle is on our radar 🙂 Is it awful that I had no idea the original Starbucks coffee shop is still standing strong? I would 100% love to visit it!
