4 Fragrances That Are Perfect for Travel

IMG_2523-my-favorite-perfumesNew perfumes are constantly being released, so you would think there would be a surplus of high-quality, nice smelling fragrances. Half the time, however, I think that a lot of new releases smell extremely similar, are way too strong, and they give me a headache.

When traveling, the last thing I want is to give myself (or those around me) a headache or to draw attention to myself in a negative way – I never want anyone to be thinking “wow, she sure likes to pour it on.” Thus, these four perfumes have become my holy grail! All of them are unique, not overpowering, and I can wear them with confidence around anyone. So if you are looking for a new fragrance to wear on holiday, give one of these a try!

IMG_2604-my-favorite-perfumesROMEA D’AMEOR | Les Souveraines d’Égypte

Have you ever owned a perfume that instantly transports you back to a special time? A scent that smells incredible and feeds your soul with happy memories? I have two, the first of which is Les Souveraines d’Égypte. I purchased this perfume a few years ago when I was in France at the Chateau de Chenonceau, and every time I spritz it I am reminded of the beautiful French countryside and the lovely chateau.

This fragrance is both daring and subtle at the same time. Bold notes of the Platanthère orchid – prized by the Egyptian queens for it soothing powers – capture the senses, while fine notes of coconut, jasmine, amber, and iris shine through. It is a striking scent, but not overpowering by any means.

If you are searching for a fragrance that perfectly captures the heart of france, then you will be pleased with this perfume. I cannot recommend Les Souveraines d’Egypte enough!

IMG_2561-my-favorite-perfumesPACIFICA | French Lilac

So often cheaper perfumes can smell fake and, well, cheap. That is not the case with Pacifica’s French Lilac. Though it is the lowest-in-cost perfume on my list, it is by no means inferior to the others. There is nothing fake or cheap about the French Lilac.  It conjures spring gardens perfectly and smells as fresh as any bouquet of lilacs. Obviously, lilac is the key scent; however, there are also subtle notes of Magnolia Leaves, Heliotrope, Ylang Ylang, Hyacinth, and Nectarine. Pacifica say’s their French Lilac “is truly the best Lilac ever” and I would have to agree.

I have the $12 roll-on, but you can also get this scent as a spray for $22, as a solid perfume rub for $9.00, or as a body butter for $15. All of these, in my opinion, are affordable and worth every penny. The scent is just so amazing!

IMG_2456-my-favorite-perfumesGIORGIO ARMANI | Sì Eau de Parfum

Typically I do not go for designer perfumes, as I am not concerned with brand names.  And, since I am not a fan of overpriced products, I usually stay clear of them, purchasing instead what catches my attention. Well, Giorgio Armani’s perfume caught my attention. When I caught a whiff of this being sprayed at Nordstrom a while back I knew I had to add it to my collection, no “if, ands, or buts” about it. This is one bandwagon I simply had to join because Sì smells insanely good.

Made with key notes of Chypre, Airy Florals, Blackcurrant Nectar, and Musky Blond Wood, Sì Eau de Parfum is a tribute to the independent, self made woman – exerting strength, poise, and independence. It is absolutely sublime.

IMG_2361-my-favorite-perfumes-LIBRARY OF FLOWERS | Honeycomb

Remember how I said I have two perfumes that act as time machines for me? This is the second one. I purchased my Honeycomb Handcreme in New Orleans a couple years back, and every time I smell it I return to the colorful streets of the French Quarter. Honeycomb’s aroma reminds me of carriage rides, romantic gates, pastel pink buildings, jazz music, summer sunshine, and pastries. In other words, paradise.

Library of Flowers Honeycomb perfume comes in so many different options – an adorable spray bottle, as a balm, in a soap bar, as a bath oil, and more! I thought the packaging for all of these was unique and lovely (see them here), but immediately decided upon the Handcreme version. I mean, it looks like a tube of paint! For an art lover like myself, it was just too enticing 😉

The Honeycomb scent has key notes of sugared fig, ambrosia honey, and royal bee blossom. Its fragrance is exactly what I envision a secret garden would smell like. Delicious, sweet and positively irresistible.

I’m the exact same way with perfume! For years I’ve never worn it just because it usually ends up bothering me. But I finally found “my scent” with Clean. It’s their Amber Saffron and I think I could take a bath in it 🙂 That Giorgio Armani perfume sounds like it smells so good – I’ll have to check that one out. And these are such gorgeous pictures sweet girl! xo

These photos are lovely. I agree the Pacifica lilac perfume smells the truest I have noticed! So pretty. I’ve given up on non-natural fragrances though. I occasionally miss them, but not often. XO – Alexandra

Oh wow, loving the sound of all these, hon… <3 Also, the photography is beyond stunning!!!
I have a few scents that bring back memories and I love wearing them from time to time. Also, it's amazing when you are walking down the street and sniff out the scent that just rings the bell about someone or something you love. Especially, childhood memories. Love love love it when that happens <3

Rollerballs are so amazing for travel! I normally keep a few in my purse for when I forget to apply them before I leave. I’ve heard great things about the travelo (or something like that), where you can decant your favourite perfume into that and take it anywhere!
